About the Tang Center

Introduction

The P.Y. and Kinmay W. Tang Center for East Asian Art sponsors and facilitates scholarly exchange by bringing together scholars, students, and the general public through interdisciplinary and innovative programs, including lectures and colloquia, publications, graduate education, museum development and exhibitions.

History

The P.Y. and Kinmay W. Tang Center for East Asian Art was established in 2001 to advance the understanding of East Asian art and culture. Building upon Princeton University’s long history of activity, scholarship, and leadership in the field of East Asian art, the Tang Center supports and encourages continuing inquiry and exploration into issues which have helpedĀ  and continue to shape East Asian art.
